Any updates? I walked past today and it looks like they paved the road but still no handicap ramp
I spoke with an inspector he stated this area is not done !
No cause
This issue should not be closed. There has not been a ramp here for 3+ years. A Handicap ramp should be in place or make the public know aware on when it will be in place. That neighborhood will have construction for the next 5+ years so it should happen before that. Please elaborate on when you think this ramp will be installed.
Im not closing the csse for a handicap ramp i am simply closing my end .i email the proper )auth and is working in the case to make this better.i am in the prosess of of making a report .as for this complaint is not closed.
Good morning,
Is there an update on this? It's hard to imagine the city doesn't care about the disabled. Shouldn't this street be ADA compliant?
Just checking back on this, When do you think the city will install a handicap ramp going onto the footpath? Last week a CITIBIKE rack was installed at this location but STILL no a Handicap ramp? Would you mind explaining where the priorities lie. With the construction trucks, countless cars and LIGHT rail whizzing by you would think an easy on again off again ramp would be useful to avoid an accident. Let me know if you would like me to send additional photos. Thank you.
YOLANDA, I just got an email that my issue has been unsettled for 30 days. Is there someone, anyone I can call, email, to get the lack of a handicap ramp remedied?
I forward an email to Pat Logan from buildings and street.
The construction of the ramp may fall within Light Rail responsibilities. I will review with Joe D'Souza and report back to you.

Thank you so much. This may explain why there hasn't been a ramp (b/c no one knows who is responsible.) Not sure who put the footpath there but maybe it is their responsibility? Thanks again for the continued investigation.

Our Director has sent a formal letter to NJTransit demanding that they bring the ramps on their property to ADA compliance. We had a contractor ready to complete this work but called the contractor off when we realized it wasn't City property. We are in discussion with NJTransit and awaiting dates they will complete this construction.
Any update .... a year and a half later?

NJTransit has agreed to design and reconstruct this handicap ramp. The work will take place in August of this year. Thanks!
